December 15, 2023: Jazz Legends extended the contract for another year. Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday solo. Duo with Phil Brenner every 2nd Friday plus 5th Fridays and 5th Saturdays.

December 29, 2022: Jazz Legends has renewed for 2023. 2nd and 4th Tuesdays solo, 6:00-9:00. The Friday schedule has changed, however. Phil Brenner and I will do our duo every 2nd and 5th Friday plus every 5th Saturday, 6:00-10:00.
I booked Friday, February 17 solo at Red Bridge Barrio. If it goes well, there will be other bookings there.

Did a podcast interview with David Naster. David wanted to talk about my history, my family and how I’ve maintained healthy relationships with my wife, kids and grandchildren AND maintained a successful music career. News 2020/2021
December 19, 2021: Jazz Legends has renewed the contract for solo every 2nd and 4th Tuesday through 2022. Same for Valentine & the Ticklers every 2nd and 4th Friday.
November 8, 2021: I'll be playing a new joint (new to me) this Saturday, Eddie V's on the Plaza with Max Groove. Details at Gig Schedule.
November 7, 2021: As of this coming Saturday, November 13, there will be no more cover charge at BBs for the Jam. NO COVER! The reinstated mask mandate was terminated last Thursday. So no cover, no masks!
May 20, 2021: Jazz Legends has restored my full solo schedule. Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday and 1 Sunday a month. See Gig Schedule for details.
May 19, 2021: Seems the gig at the Green Lady is over. It was fun while it lasted, but I won't miss the late hours.
May 16, 2021: Mask mandates lifted for the region except Wyandotte County (Jazz Legends). In April I averaged 3 gigs a week; in May it's 4 gigs a week. 2-4 gigs a week is what I was doing when the Shutdown happened in March of 2020.
May 12, 2021: Capacity and distancing restrictions are lifted, mask mandate still in effect. BBs has moved the Saturday Afternoon Jam back inside.
The Green Lady gig may have some legs. It's kind of a unique situation. All jazz, all original music; no covers, no standards. It's been fun. It's nice to be playing in a band with a real B3.
March 18, 2021: I'll be playing the Green Lady Lounge every Tuesday with Max Groove on Hammond B3 and Terry Hancock on drums. It's the late shift; 10:00-2:00.
Starting back up at BBs with Mama Ray, Allen Monroe and Keith Mallory every Saturday afternoon from 2:00-5:00, beginning April 3rd. The shows will be outside; we'll play on the deck to the parking lot, weather permitting. We'll move it back inside when the capacity restrictions are lifted.

February 26, 2021: Jazz Legends will slowly start booking back. I'll be solo one Tuesday and one Sunday a month March, April and May. See the Gig Schedule for the dates.
December 7, 2020: Jazz Legends has cancelled all live music on weeknights through January 2021. So that means my every-other-Tuesday gig is off the books. The trio (Valentine & the Ticklers) is still doing every 2nd and 4th Friday. The Gig Schedule is current. As of now I've got no bookings until January 8th.
May 20, 2020: Just received word today that Valentine & the Ticklers will resume our every 2nd & 4th Friday gigs (6:00-10:00) at Jazz Legends in June. My every 1st and 3rd Tuesday solo dates (6:00-9:00) will resume in July. See Gig Schedule.

March 23, 2020: Due to Kansas City's COVID-19 Shelter-in-Place order all gigs are cancelled until further notice. My teaching continues via Skype and FaceTime.
January, 26, 2020: Jazz Legends has renewed me solo every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month through December 2020.
They've also renewed solo on Sundays - that's basically 1 Sunday a month starting with February 9th. The Sundays are through August (no live music during football season) and float around a little so you should check the Gig Schedule.
