Hello, Am ok with all you have said  she will buy all necessary book
and materials to be purchased for the training so i want you to take
her for four weeks so have forward the information to my financier in
united state  to  send you a check of $5000 so you will deduct 4 weeks

Concerning the  cab so as have told you earlier that have arrange for
the cab driver that  will be driving me to work and also be taking her
to your location every tutor day. So you will deduct your charges and

in working with me by driving my me and my daughter without receiving

It is now 13:53 pm on a Saturday. The banks close at noon on Saturdays. Monday is Labor Day (a holiday in the US). No banks are open on Sunday. So I do not have access to my bank accounts until Tuesday.

So I wonder if Bamidele Odusina is the scammer or just some poor guy whose name he picked up? Or maybe Bamidele is an accomplice who allows the scammer to use his address so he can get money from incredibly stupid, gullible, "rich" Americans? Speaking of stupid, these scammer types don't affect me as being particularly smart. For instance. it never ceases to amaze me how people from the UK have such poor English skills. "i don't want to live my son in pain..." Yeah buddy - you talk and write just like an English Doctor who has a contract with the US Environmental Protection Agency. Now this whole episode with the son in Africa reeks of desperation. You'd think a Nigerian surgeon who extorts money from poor hapless doctors in England would use a PO box or something like it rather than broadcasting his address to the whole world, right? I mean, it just stands to reason. He can't wait 'till Tuesday for thousands of dollars, so he concocts this story so he can get $800.00 now. I'm sure that 800 US dollars is a LOT of money in Nigeria. Probably would set up Bamidele for, like, a whole year! My gut is telling me Bamidele is our scammer. But...who cares? Not me.]

Seems like everything happens on Friday, Michael. I just now got home and opened your email. Your check is sitting on my desk at my teaching studio in Kansas and I am at home in Missouri packing for my trip to Dallas. I am leaving at 4am tomorrow morning - long before the banks open - and will be gone all next week. I will return home about 3am on Sunday the 20th. You and your daughter should be in the states by then. We are scheduled to begin your daughter's tutoring on Monday the 21st. However, this whole thing just took an unexpected twist. A couple of days ago, I put up another ad on craigslist. Guess what? I got an email from Dr Michael Scott in the UK soliciting guitar lessons for his daughter! I'm going to respond to it just like I did in this thread. As a matter of fact, I'll just copy-and-paste my responses from this thread. I wonder how long it will take  him to realize he's trying to scam the same guy twice - he's even trying to scam the same guy before the first scam has played itself out! make proper arrngement before our arrival, most the cab driver it is

I don't have a mobile phone. My studio phone is (913) 541-1863. However I am on a phone modem so whenever I am online it ties up the phone line. That would explain the busy signal.

Secondly, I am very confused. On Sept 5th you told me you needed $800 to pay the doctor for your son John in Africa. Then on Sept 11th you said the doctor needed $2000. Then on Sept 17th you said you needed $500. Now you want me to send $1000. What's up with that?

Thirdly, last I heard, we were to begin your daughter's tutoring on Sept 21st. It is now the 24th and I haven't heard from her. I hope everything's alright and nothing bad has happened.

I don't want to sound callous, Michael, and I wish the best for your son, but John's problem in Africa is not really my problem. I'm reticent to involve myself in the domestic issues of another man's family. That's frowned on in American culture. My problem is keeping my teaching schedule full and paying my bills and feeding my family. So...I'm waiting to hear from Mary. Assuming I hear from her then I will just give her the money and you can do whatever you need to do with it.

thanks for getting back to me so about the son problem in africa i
told you to send them $800  for the deposit so the operation can began
immedaitely, you told me that you unable to help me that you have use
the money to repair you motor  get the money sent to theDoctor to
start the operation immediately, So after this the operation the
Doctor charges us $2000  nad have pay them $800 out it it remain $1200
so that is why i told you to get $1000 to the Doctor so i will pay the
rest $200

So i wont you to help me get $1000 to the Doctor today, have start the
preparation of comming yesterday so we will arrived to the state on
sunday  so i and mary will come to your location schedule the time to
start the tutor  on moday. Sir have not make any arrangement with any
cab driver now so you will be reponsible for our pick up at the

Jay the doctor contact yesterday about the money, so i told them that
thay we have the money before friday, i dont wont any delay as from
this moment so let get everything done accordinly so that the tutorwe
start on monday

Hi Michael,

You misunderstood me. I didn't use your money to repair my car. I haven't done anything with your money. Your check is still sitting on my desk. I have not cashed it.

I would be happy to pick you up at the airport on Sunday, just email me your flight details.

As for sending the doctor the money on Friday, I just now opened up your email. As you can see it is 2:30 on Friday afternoon. I am already teaching and will have no opportunity to cash your check and send the money until Monday. I have a performance tonight until 2am and then 2 performances tomorrow. So I will see you Sunday at the airport and will cash your check Monday morning and just give you the money at Elisabeth's first lesson on Monday. Ok?

Here's an idea. Since I haven't done anything with your check I will just tear it up and throw it away. Now you have the money! You can send what you need to send to the doctor in Africa and purchase whatever you need to to get to the states. It solves everything! You can just pay me my fee when you arrive. I will pick you up at the airport and take you to a hotel within walking distance of my teaching studio. It's perfect! I can't think of any reason why this would not be acceptable to you. You instantly have your money and are not dependent on me to pay the doctor in Africa. I think this is a very good solution to our problems! Ok?

the check was issue out on my behave but it my financier in US that
send the check to you so you have to cashe the check and  help ma do
all necessary arrnagement, so dedcut your own total chrges and send
the doctor his excess money and we will arrived to the state in time

He's YOUR financier, right? That means he should do what you say. I tear up your check, and he has the money. Your money, right? Then he pays the doctor in Africa, sends you money to get to US, and pays me my fee, and only my fee. Problem solved. He's YOUR financier, Michael. He does what YOU say, that's his job. That's what you pay him for, right?


[Well, it's been 2 days and I haven't heard from Michael/Bamidele/whoever. I assume this little episode has run it's course.]
