No, Jide, I'm not mad. And there is no way I can get money from you. The check you sent is a bad check. How can I get any money from that? Since the check is bad, you have no money at risk other than what it cost you to forge the check and ship it to me. If I do anything with your check it will come back to my bank as a bad check. Then I will have to give the money back to the bank and be charged service fees for the bank's trouble. If I try to pass that check off as good I will go to jail, which is what happens in America if you purposefully write bad checks.

I do get benefit from exchanges like ours but it does NOT involve doing ANYTHING with your bogus check. If you wish to know what that benefit is, I will be happy to tell you, all you have to do is respond to this email and ask me. If you do so, I would also have questions for you, if you would be so kind to answer them.

I knew from the very beginning that this was a scam. If I am wrong about that, there is a very easy way for you to prove to me your good intentions. I will tear your check up and throw it away. That means that you instantly have the money in your account. Indeed, it never left your account because I have not done anything up to now with your check. You now have the money to get your daughter Rose and yourself the plane fare to my city. I will be happy to pick you up at the airport and take you to a hotel within walking distance to my teaching studio. You do not have to pay me my fee until I give Rose her lessons, and I will apologize to you, in person, for calling you a scammer.

Hi Jide,

I'm sorry, Jide. I must confess I am very disappointed as well. You've never realized that this is the SECOND check that I've received from you. The second one...two...2. You need to build some quality control into the program you use to harvest names and addresses off of Craigslist. It's pretty bad when you can't even keep straight who you've sent checks to. The first check was dated 10/8. The second one was dated 10/30. That's less than a month apart - and you didn't remember me? That really hurts.

O well...perhaps we'll meet again - you'll probably be using a different name - and perhaps you'll send me another bogus check.....fun!
