[Apparently Calvin has decided that I am not a legitimate target. Maybe Calvin is the same guy as any number of other scammers who I've gotten a check from and recognizes me from a former episode. Most of my students pay me by check. They pay by the month. So the first week of
the month (that's now) I receive dozens of checks, in person, through the mail,
and by direct deposit. Many times, the check is from a person who is a different
name than my student. This happens most often when the check is from a
stepfather. The man marries the child's mother but the child retains his
birth-name, the name of his biological father. See the problem? Every month I
receive checks in the mail and I don't know to which student to apply them. I am
currently holding more than a half-dozen checks, trying to figure out which
account to apply them to. I'm not certain that ANY of those checks are from you.
You must be able to identify the check - who it's from, the amount, and how it
was sent to me, before I will do anything with it. Otherwise, it will go into
the "unknown" file. Do you understand my dilemma?

So Calvin, I'm wondering about something. Perhaps you can satisfy my
curiosity.
On October 7th, 2009, I got a solicitation from you to teach your son. I
responded and after 3 exchanges I heard nothing further from you. "O well" I
thought to myself, "Maybe he found another teacher that's cheaper or more
convenient for him."
Then on October 23rd, 2009, I again received a solicitation from you to teach
your son. The email was identical to the one you had previously sent me. Again I
responded, and we began an exchange. Finally, on November 2nd, you told me a
check had been mailed. I heard nothing further from you.
Because of the nature of my business, I often receive checks without knowing
which account to apply them to. This most often happens when a student's mother
and father are divorced, the mother remarries, and so the student's last name is
different from the name on the check. I have to do a little digging to find out
which student to apply the money to.
On November the 6th, I contacted you, thinking maybe one of the half-dozen
checks I was holding was from you. After several emails back-and-forth during
which you tried to convince me that I indeed was in possession of your check, I
determined that I did not have your
check. You said, "Ok, do keep me posted."
Now, 3 months later, I receive another (identical) solicitation from you, I
responded, and the result is this $3200.00 check.
It's obvious you are a scammer, Calvin - or whatever your name is. I'm just
wondering about the efficiency of your operation. You should have some kind of
quality control in place that should tell you of our two previous exchanges.
Especially since it appears that you have so many scams going you can't remember
what was going on barely 3 months ago. That way you could have saved yourself
the time and expense of shipping a check to someone who there was a zero chance
of getting any money from. Not good business, Calvin. Not good business at all.
At any rate, I will add your check to my collection and hope to hear back from
you. If not, well then I will look forward to our future exchange and to
receiving another bogus check from you, approximately 3 months from now.
